Marylou Hume is the director of the Lebanon Ballet School. She began her training in Canton, Ohio under Suanne Ferguson and went on to study at American Ballet Theater as well as with David Howard and Maggie Black at their New York City studios. Ms. Hume appeared on Broadway in “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” with Debbie Boone. She also danced major roles with the Basle Ballet Theatre of Switzerland, the Ohio Ballet, the Birmingham Ballet, and the Cincinnati Ballet. In 1993, Montgomery School of Ballet, under the direction of Marylou Hume, was named one of the top ballet training centers in the country, by the Mellon Foundation and under her tenure over 100 students were accepted into prestigious summer study programs with Houston Ballet, Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, School of American Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet and Northwest Ballet.

Her husband, Don Steffy, is presently the Executive Director of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir
